About me
Hi. My name is Heather and I have been a licensed professional counselor for 16 years. I specialize in working with high functioning adults who are struggling with anxiety, people-pleasing, perfectionism, boundaries, and trauma. I am always welcome to questions via email to see if we would be a good match.
I'm fully virtual in Michigan, Louisiana, and South Carolina, so you can start your journey toward healing from the comfort of your own home, with no commute. Many of my clients say that my direct style, mixed with humor, helps them break through resistance, avoidance, and other barriers that have kept them stuck. Together, we will explore common themes like people-pleasing, boundaries, perfectionism, toxic relationships, and feeling disconnected from others or from experiences that once brought joy.
In Michigan and Louisiana, I’m in-network with most commercial insurances, and I offer private pay options in South Carolina.
I take an active, conversational approach in our work, always moving us forward toward progress, change, and growth. I might suggest journaling, reading, or practicing concepts from our sessions to help bridge the gap between appointments and turn our discussions into real-life changes. I’ll gently push you outside your comfort zone to do and say things that might normally stay locked inside — no more waiting around for change to happen.
We’ll also dive into past attachment patterns that may be repeating in your life today, helping you understand what’s no longer serving you. This process empowers you to rewrite the narrative and create new, healthier patterns. By understanding the connection between past and present, you’re no longer controlled by your past but informed in a way that allows you to decide what works for you.
We will work to uncover and discover what takes you from complacent to content, from chaos to balance. We can let your mind see that anxiety does not have to control your behaviors or decisions and you can start living your life based off of your values, not running from fear. When we seek value, instead of validation, we start making more genuine connections to ourselves and others. We will get beyond the surface and when we explore what lies beneath, you can have a positive vision for your future instead of anxiety or the unknown.
If you’re ready to stop overanalyzing and start truly engaging with your life, let's take that first step together. The quickest way to reach me is via email, and I’m happy to answer any questions you may have as you begin your journey.
