About me
I am an experienced clinical psychologist who provides support and guidance for individuals, couples, and families struggling with anxiety, depression, trauma, stress, and relationship issues.
Sometimes our lives can feel really hard. You wish things were different for you, sensing a huge gap between where your life is and where you want it to be. You are dealing with really challenging situations, feeling overwhelmed and unsure what to do next or how to manage. You feel lonely, sad, or anxious, and just don’t want to feel this way anymore. All of this leaves you feeling hopeless and in need of relief. It all just feels like too much sometimes and you desperately want to feel better. With the help of therapy, you can feel more connected in your relationships, gain confidence to speak up about how you feel, and not let anxiety hold you back anymore. In short, you can create the life YOU want to live, finding meaning and fulfillment.
I specialize in working with individuals and couples struggling with anxiety, depression, life stressors and relationship issues. In a safe and supportive environment, you can explore current struggles, make connections to repeated patterns, and identify action steps moving forward.
Dr. Ginny Zimmerman completed her Ph.D. in Clinical Developmental Psychology at Bryn Mawr College in 2007. Following completion of her degree, she completed a Postdoctoral Fellowship at the Renfrew Center in Philadelphia, providing inpatient services for women with eating disorders. Past clinical work experiences include individual and group counseling in university counseling centers, psychoeducational assessment in school settings, court mandated treatment, and individual/couples/family counseling in private practice settings. She is a Maryland licensed clinical psychologist with over 10 years of experience in private practice.
