About me

What happens when our well-intentioned - yet sometimes uncooperative - brains try to protect us from experiencing harm? Yup, you got it! It's called Stress, also known as Anxiety, and at times it can be quite the nuisance. You are welcome to join me on a journey of knowledge and self-discovery to recognize and appreciate how our brain and bodies have helped us survive the personal challenges and struggles life presents. And then, let's help our brain recognize that, when we are actually safe, we don't need to go into stress mode, and we can learn how to direct Anxiety to take a seat until it is next needed.

I am an unapologetic "brain nerd" and our sessions will likely end up delving into some aspects of neurobiology. I also enjoy a relational approach and authenticity in the therapeutic relationship. My hope is that, along with knowledge, my clients leave each session with an increased sense of strength, purpose, clarity, and relief. I am a Strengths-Based, Client-Centered therapist who is committed to evidence-based practice and trained in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, and Trauma-Informed Therapy. This means that we will explore thoughts, emotions, and behaviors, the cycle of anxiety, as well as mindfulness techniques, if - and only if - you are on board and comfortable! My style is casual, authentic, and relational, and I value feedback and working together, every step of the way.
