About me
Gail Giunta offers a Wholistic approach to therapy utilizing Mind-Body centered practices including Nature-based Walk-Talk therapy and Expressive Arts. Gail specializes in helping clients recover and heal from narcissistic and antagonistic relationships as she is a Certified Narcissistic Abuse Treatment Clinician Certification and a National Board Certified Counselor. Gail works with adults with a focus on Women, LGBTQ+ & Cancer clients.
My approach to therapy is solution-based and goal-oriented; clients and I work on building goals for therapy sessions. Clients are encouraged to have autonomy when developing their voice in their growth process. In the first 1-2 sessions, we work on an initial assessment, which includes family history and issues in the areas of medical/mental health/medication, stressors, living situations, trauma, legal, education, and life transition challenges. I offer “homework” assignments, such as reviewing CBT (cognitive behavioral therapy) informational worksheets; reading articles; making recommendations on books or podcasts; and suggesting videos on how to implement anxiety-reducing strategies. Sometimes, we will use workbooks together in session.
As a provider, my continuing education to build upon competencies includes attending professional association conferences annually; workshops and courses in a variety of topics (such as imposter syndrome, narcissistic abuse recovery, and yoga trauma-informed therapy); and soon-to-be EMDR training as an additional resource to help clients with various forms of trauma. In addition, I read evidence-based books and journal articles related to mental health concerns and best practices.
