Hello. My name is Fonda Cormier, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. I received my master’s degree at California State University Dominguez Hill. After graduating I began my career as a Children’s Social Worker, with over a decade working in the mental health field.

I am skilled in the treatment of mood disorders, anxiety, depression, relationship and family conflict; including crisis management. I have also worked with clients diagnosed with HIV/AIDS, and the LGBTQ+ community. I have a growing interest in working with clients with personality disorders such as NPD and Borderline.

Using a Telehealth platform, I use therapeutic modalities such as Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Dialectic Behavioral Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, Structured Family Therapy, and Attachment Theories.

My work centers on fostering self-love and meaningful connections. I support clients in improving communication, overcoming isolation, social anxiety, and processing difficult emotions like guilt and shame. I also consider a cultural approach to understanding my client’s mental health needs. I help clients navigate difficult life situations and conflicts; including phase of life issues which is a primary reason people seek therapy.

I am proud to say that my life experiences, education, and work history have allowed me to build consistent relationships with my clients during the therapeutic process.
