About me
I have been in practice for 26 years and have experience in providing psychotherapy to assist clients surmount challenges they face, help gain insight and implement change. I work with individuals, families, teens, transitional age youth, adults, older adults and couples. If you are looking for a couples therapist, look no further. I love the work and have helped couples improve communication, overcome affairs and coparent. My job is to help clients gain insight and understand themselves to lessen symptoms, improve relationships, work through trauma, and transitions, to improve all aspects of life: relationships, self-edsttm, work, love and important aspects of life. I treat anxiety, depression, addiction, bipolar, Asperger’s, borderline personality disorder, chronic pain, physical illness, couples, eating disorders, sibling/ family dysfunction and more. I collaborate with psychiatrists/psycho pharmacologists and have a strong sense whether my clients might benefit from medication.
I work collaboratively work with clients to improve relationships and communication as well as develop both insight and motivation for change. I believe my job is to help clients find their own answers that resonate for them and make changes to have a more fulfilling life. My work incorporates concepts and skills from: Traumatizing Focused, IFS, DBT (with 5 years on a clinical team), psychodynamic and a focus on the therapeutic relationship. My work is trauma focused for most, but while everyone experiences trauma, not all people with trauma, experience symptoms or emotional pain.. I assist clients in working through and overcoming trauma, to live life more fully and increase insight into how that trauma has impacted them. I am lucky in that I enjoy providing psychotherapy and and the honor to see change and transformation.
