About me

Hi, my name is Eva Watts and I am a licensed clinical social worker that has been practicing for almost 30 years. I specialize in all mental health disorders, including anxiety, depression, psychosis, and other schizophrenic diagnosis. I also specialize in working with victims of trauma, childhood trauma, rape/sexual assault eating disorders and substance abuse disorders. I believe that every individual has the right to be heard, to feel seen and are capable of love. I use an eclectic approach to therapy which basically means that I use whatever method that is evidence based to meet the client where they are at and to help them see their lives and their selves differently so that they too can live their best life.

In my practice, I make it a habit to be open and honest with my clients which gives them the freedom to open up and discuss their concerns even when they’re difficult to talk about. I use various methods, including play therapy, art therapy, and music therapy. I find that helping a person find what they are good at, helps them find the courage to move forward with difficult situations by using reduced exposure therapy. By helping a person build, their self-esteem is essential when helping them with issues that are painful and some even traumatic often causes them to retreat when they don’t understand what they’re feeling. I help my clients learn how to identify their feelings and to express them appropriately. Because once they can identify their feelings, then they can make a choice, not based on what they feel, but on the facts of a situation using cost/benefit analysis coupled with other therapeutic techniques to help the client see themselves in a more positive light which can change everything in their lives.
