About me
I am an experienced, compassionate therapist who connects with individuals from all walks of life- regardless of race, socioeconomic background, religious beliefs, sexual orientation, or personal history. I genuinely aim to support young adults, adults, and couples through their concerns fostering a safe and understanding environment for healing and growth.
I am an integrative therapist with over twenty-five years of experience in psychotherapy and social work. My passion for my work drives me to genuinely care and take the time to listen to you. I am trained and certified in evidence-based treatments such as Motivational interviewing (MI), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and brief Therapy.
I believe in lifelong learning and am a student of Positive Psychology, the science of happiness. My background in Whole Health and Wellness means I approach each client as a whole person, not just their problems or situations. I evaluate clients for strengths, resources, and resiliency factors to help them achieve their desired outcomes.
It is an honor to work with individuals courageous enough to seek therapeutic help with mental, emotional, or relationship issues. My goal is to offer a safe, judgment-free space for clients to feel comfortable sharing their experiences. Clients seek my help for issues such as anxiety, depression, ADD, ADHD, OCD, bipolar disorder, relationship conflicts, substance misuse, sexual assault, loneliness, complex grief, psychosis (stable on medications), chronic life stress, and vocational stress.
Working at the client’s pace and on goals set collaboratively at the beginning of our work together, I used a variety of evidence-based practices to help them reach their goals. During or after sessions, I may provide links to tools or resources specific to their situations. I listen and invite feedback to ensure I am meeting their therapeutic needs and that they are making progress. Based on their feedback, I am willing and able to adjust my approach.
Immediate and lasting changes are possible: you can experience a reduction in symptoms, make satisfying life changes, reconcile with traumatic experiences, and improve your communication and relationships skills from the first session.
