About me
Erin Austin has 18 years of experience counseling people through difficult times, resulting in personal transformation. Using hypnotherapy and psychodynamic tools, she works to uncover deep-rooted patterns of thinking and feeling that get in the way of experiencing true joy. She has special training in trauma recovery and thrives on helping her fellow helping professionals.
I continue to be fascinated by the work of Carl Jung regarding the shadow part of the psyche. When we look at these parts of ourselves with kindness and curiosity, they seem less scary and have less of a hold on us. I continue to read and educate myself on all aspects of the human experience, learn from fellow therapists, and attend all the training my schedule allows. I'm excited to see the field of mental health evolving in so many ways. One of the most significant ways is the common use of telehealth. There is no downside to the increase in accessibility to mental health care. I'm also pleased to see psychotherapy less stigmatized than ever before. I just love hearing things like, "The other day when I was talking to my therapist..." in everyday conversation.
