About me
I am an experienced therapist who is able to work with individuals of all ages develop a wide range of coping skills.
Hello, my name is Erica Gunter and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor, Mental Health Service Provider (LPC-MHSP) in the state of Tennessee. I obtained my Bachelor of Science in Psychology with Minors in Social Welfare and Mental Health Services from Middle Tennessee State University and my Master of Education in Mental Health Counseling from Lincoln Memorial University.
I am passionate about working with teens and adults, ages 13+. I have worked with children in schools, individuals struggling with substance abuse, and currently work with teens in an Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP). I have prior experience as an outpatient therapist working in an integrative health setting alongside medical professionals as a part of a collaborative team addressing the connections between the mind and the body.
Through my experience, I have learned that I enjoy working with a wide range of symptoms and disorders. I am a certified Dialectical Behavioral Therapist (DBT) and enjoy utilizing this holistic approach in individual sessions as well as groups. I work to provide a welcoming and non-judgemental space while incorporating a variety of techniques such as Motivational Interviewing, DBT, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Internal Family Systems (IFS) in order to meet the client’s individual needs. I am available for both in person and virtual sessions. I would love to help you work towards your goals!
