About me

I'm a trauma-informed clinical psychologist specializing in helping individuals heal from trauma, PTSD, anxiety, depression, and identity challenges. I provide compassionate, evidence-based care, offering a supportive space for clients to rebuild self-compassion, manage emotions, and navigate life transitions.

About Me
Welcome! I’m Dr. Emily Rowe, a clinical psychologist with a passion for helping individuals heal from trauma, overcome life’s challenges, and develop a stronger sense of self. I specialize in working with people who are dealing with trauma, PTSD, anxiety, identity exploration, family conflict, and life transitions. I provide a safe, supportive, and nonjudgmental space where you can explore your emotions, process painful experiences, and begin the journey toward healing and growth.

My Approach
My approach to therapy is compassionate, collaborative, and evidence-based. I believe that each client is unique, and therapy should be tailored to fit your specific needs and goals. I use a variety of therapeutic modalities, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), to help you manage distress, regulate emotions, and build resilience.

Whether you’re working through childhood trauma, struggling with the aftermath of religious or sexual trauma, or navigating complex family dynamics like estrangement, I will guide you through the process of understanding and healing. Together, we’ll identify the underlying causes of your challenges, develop practical strategies to cope with difficult emotions, and create lasting change.

Specialties
I work with a wide range of issues, but I specialize in trauma and PTSD, particularly for individuals who have experienced complex trauma, childhood trauma, religious trauma, domestic abuse, sexual assault, or sexual abuse. Trauma can leave a lasting impact on your life, making it difficult to feel safe, connected, or in control. In our sessions, we’ll work through these difficult experiences, helping you reclaim your sense of self and build the skills necessary to move forward.

I also specialize in treating anxiety and ADHD. Anxiety can be overwhelming, causing worry, avoidance, and physical symptoms that disrupt your daily life. Together, we’ll explore the root causes of your anxiety, develop tools to manage it, and build confidence in your ability to face challenges.

For clients with ADHD, therapy focuses on managing difficulties with focus, time management, and emotional regulation. We’ll also work on breaking cycles of perfectionism and task paralysis, helping you build a structure that works for you and reduces overwhelm.

LGBTQ+ Affirmative Care
I’m passionate about providing LGBTQ+ affirmative therapy. Navigating issues related to identity, coming out, or societal pressures can be challenging, and it’s important to have a space where you feel understood and supported. My practice is a welcoming, inclusive environment where you can explore your experiences, build self-acceptance, and develop confidence in living authentically.

Online Therapy and Flexibility
I offer both in-person and online therapy, giving you the flexibility to choose what works best for your lifestyle. Online therapy allows you to access support from the comfort of your home, making it easier to prioritize your mental health, no matter where you are. Whether we meet in person or online, you can expect the same compassionate, individualized care.

What You Can Expect
In therapy, we’ll work together to create a plan that addresses your unique needs and goals. Whether you’re looking for relief from overwhelming emotions, wanting to rebuild self-confidence, or seeking guidance through a difficult life transition, I’m here to support you every step of the way. My goal is to help you develop the tools to navigate life’s challenges, heal from past wounds, and create a life that feels aligned with your values.

Therapy is not a one-size-fits-all process. I believe in meeting clients where they are and adjusting the approach to fit what works best for you. This might involve exploring your thought patterns, practicing mindfulness and emotional regulation skills, or working on building self-compassion and acceptance.

Let’s Work Together
If you’re ready to start the healing process, I’m here to walk alongside you. Therapy is a space for growth, reflection, and building the skills you need to live a fulfilling life. Together, we can navigate the challenges you’re facing, heal from past traumas, and work toward a future where you feel more confident, grounded, and empowered.
