About me
Welcome! I’m Dr. Emily Eccles, a licensed clinical psychologist (CA#PSY33571) based in Santa Barbara, California. I provide therapy for adults, both in person and via video calls, offering a warm, down-to-earth approach that fosters trust and emotional safety. My goal is to support you in living a more fulfilling life by helping you navigate challenges such as trauma, anxiety, depression, and major life transitions.
In therapy, I work collaboratively to identify existing patterns, explore new ways of relating to yourself and others, and develop strategies for approaching emotions with greater confidence. My integrative approach draws from evidence-based practices, including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Compassion-Focused Therapy (CFT). I specialize in helping clients cultivate a healthier relationship with their emotions, allowing them to respond with effectiveness, intention, and self-compassion.
I often incorporate experiential exercises such as mindfulness and guided visualizations to enhance self-awareness and emotional resilience. My clients report increased confidence in facing intense emotions and a greater ability to engage with themselves and others in meaningful, compassionate ways.
To begin your journey, I offer free 15-minute phone consultations. This is an opportunity for us to discuss your needs, create a preliminary treatment plan, and determine if we are the right fit. Please feel free to reach out with any questions—I look forward to hearing from you.
