About me

I became a therapist because of a belief in stories and dignity and worth in all humans. I offer individual therapy to address anxiety, trauma, grief and life transitions. I am a licensed clinical social worker in PA & NJ, Certified EMDR therapist and Certified Yoga teacher.

I didn't become a therapist by accident, I know what it is like to not be seen. This absence led me to theatre; I mean what greater venue than a stage to be seen. A college production of 9 Parts of Desire (by Heather Raffo) is what I look back on now and say "that was step one to becoming a therapist". As a cast we worked with a group of Iraqi refugees. This time together allowed the production to give voice to their dignity and worth.

Three years after this production I completed my masters in clinical social work at Temple University. But of course the journey doesn't end there. I was experiencing a stuck anxious energy that traditional talk therapy didn't seem to be addressing. A friend's encouragement to try a yoga class moved this energy. I was invited to notice feelings and sensations without judgement. I was seeing myself.

The mind body connection is the heart of what I offer. Completing EMDR certification is one of the greatest gains of my career because it provides skills, confidence, and safety in mind body treatment. Similar to my experience with yoga, EMDR changed my career and personal life. It is now internalized that I am worthy of being seen.

My hope is to offer a space for you to be seen.
