I'm a school counselor turned therapist interested in empowering people of all ages to heal and grow.

Hi! I'm Ellison.

I believe in allowing folks the space to explore. I love working with kids, and believe that those as young as toddlers want to be the best version of themselves they can- I know you're on that path, I see my role as walking it with you or your child. Child centered play therapy is my favorite modality. My goal is to see you, hear you, and understand you as you are, while helping you problem solve to get to where you want to be. I believe in accepting the contrasting and opposite in each of us. I strongly believe in supporting those who come from cultures (especially races, sexualities, and gender identities) different from mine.

Brightleaf Counseling is so named because the vibrancy and brightness of all that come to therapy. Leaf means I just really like plants. But you can add some cool stuff about growth in there for sure.

When I'm not doing counseling, you can find me listening to audiobooks (either self help or domestic thriller and nothing in between), playing with my dog, running (slowly), and/or starting and sometimes finishing creative projects.
