About me
Elizabeth M Wilkins-McKee, MSW, LCSW | Clinical Therapist in Manassas, VA, specializing in anxiety, autism, depression, and reproductive mental health for children, adults, and families.
I’ve been a Licensed Clinical Social Worker for over 28 years, practicing in Michigan, Vermont, and now Virginia. As a second-generation mental health provider (and third-generation healthcare provider), I’ve grown up with a deep appreciation for this work.
My approach is grounded in both psychological expertise and lived experience, and I work with the whole family system—children of all ages, individuals, couples, and families. We focus on developing practical, real-world strategies for life's most significant challenges. This includes navigating complex parenting dilemmas (including support for executive functioning), managing anxiety and depression, processing grief and loss, and finding stable ground during divorce, separation, and family change.
A core part of my practice, which I formally developed in 2004, is a specialty in reproductive mental health. This is an area where clinical support and personal understanding are deeply intertwined. I provide compassionate guidance for individuals and families navigating the journey of trying to have a child (including pre-fertility assessments), processing the unique pain of miscarriage and infant loss, managing antenatal (during pregnancy) anxiety and depression, and navigating postpartum mood disorders.
Outside of the office, I’m a singer, gardener, swimmer, reader, and traveler. I love what I do and have had the privilege of serving more than a thousand clients who have come to me seeking to live a healthier and less painful life. It is a joy to nurture their growth and witness their healing.
This passion for supporting families, individuals and couples led me to found The Parents and Children Project. We are a practice built on the core idea that lived experience and psychological expertise must go hand-in-hand. Our work is grounded in providing practical, real-world strategies for parenting, child development, personal growth and executive functioning. We are more than just a traditional therapy practice; we are a growing collective of specialists—including parent coaches, educational advocates, and group facilitators—all dedicated to supporting the "whole person" and the whole family system. We support a broad range of clients, from those who simply want to be their best selves to those managing formal diagnoses.
