I am a licensed professional counselor with extensive trauma training and experience treating teens and adults with mental health and substance abuse problems.

I am a kind and compassionate person, who enjoys helping clients to understand the root of their difficulties. I do my best to provide clients with a sense of safety that allows them to take steps towards the vulnerability necessary for self-work. It is my belief that in forming a solid alliance with clients, we can work together on shared therapeutic goals of well-being. Many individuals struggle to trust in others due to relational and attachment difficulties, so I offer an unconditional positive regard harnessed in respect and lack of judgment.
In my practice, I encourage clients to explore their past relationships to identify patterns that may have been useful in life, but are no longer serving them. In my training, I have come to view mental health symptoms as being predominantly a manifestation of earlier unresolved trauma (s). I believe that our brains want to heal themselves and that with right tools, support and encouragement change is possible, if not probable. My experience in treating individual using Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR) has given me a newfound hope that even individuals that have had little success with talk therapy modalities, can experience relief from traumas that interfere with daily functioning.
