About me
I have experience working with adolescents and adults in a variety of settings. I have worked from within a school system with adolescents to with an adult population with higher needs. I am licensed in NC, and I prioritize the therapeutic relationship in the healing process.
My name is Elizabeth Joel. I hold dual master’s degrees in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and Forensic Mental Health Leadership. I possess extensive training and am currently undergoing rigorous education in working with narcissistic abuse. My areas of focus include emotional regulation, identity and role development, relationships, trauma, and anxiety. I operate from a person-centered approach that prioritizes the needs and perspectives of the client. Additionally, I integrate techniques from DBT, ACT, and CBT. I am also enhancing my skills through ongoing training in somatic and mindfulness-based interventions.
What makes my approach unique is my conviction that the therapeutic relationship itself is a vital source of healing. Together, we will build a trusting connection, creating a foundation from which you can explore difficult emotions and experiences with confidence. My goal is for you to feel genuinely understood and supported throughout your journey.
I emphasize the significance of the therapeutic relationship and collaboratively set goals tailored to your unique needs. I will guide you through interventions designed to foster self-awareness and empowerment, helping you identify and navigate unhelpful patterns. You can schedule sessions at your convenience through a link I provide! :)
