About me
I celebrate the individual's strengths in a nonjudgmental collaboration. The mind-body-heart connection, awareness, and trust are the foundation of therapy. There is no one size fits all therapy. I specialize in trauma, depression, anxiety, grief, life transitions, neurodivergence, cultural/social microagressions, work issues, stress/burnout, the LGBTQ+ community, spirituality, and coping skills in today's ever changing environment.
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor serving Missouri and Colorado. I work with individuals/couples. I am absolutely in love with nature and photography. My collection of rocks, feathers, and nature treasures is extensive. Nature also resides in my home with my dog and cat and outside with resident groundhog mama, opposum, raccoons, skunks, crows, all sorts of birds, and very fat squirrels. I love to laugh and through my decades of social/cultural/technological change, I stand in awe at the resiliency of the human spirit.
I believe in the power of the individual's voice. We all face challenges and have goals. Those challenges and goals are important to us and family, friends, co-workers, and social media are quick to shout their advice. We stand there alone not only overwhelmed by our challenges and goals, but by all the advice. Therapy is the opportunity for your voice to be heard. The difference is, you're not screaming it alone in your car or muttering your feelings, in your head while you shower, wash the dishes, etc. With therapy, there are another pair of ears listening without judgement.
We work with the body and nervous system- the engine that not only reads our environment but whether that environment is "safe." We integrate the body with the mind - the story teller and library of your life. The body and mind are then integrated with the heart- the treasure chest of our feelings, emotions, wounds, relationships, and our sense of self-worth. We use a conversational style, somatic tools, education on how the nervous system engine works, and honoring our feelings. Most importantly, we integrate all three and release your voice without judgement. Therapy is not about change- it is releasing what is already there- your voice.
Our sessions are designed to focus on your voice, your needs, and your feelings. The sessions are designed not only to create a sense of safety but the feeling of safeness. We find what tools and resources fit you. We discover the strength of your voice that truly does exist now.
I look forward to celebrating you, walking with you, setting goals that are important to you, discovering your strengths, and creating a personal landscape that thrills your heart and matches your voice. We may not always be able to answer all life's questions, but we can find more empowering questions that lift your voice.
