About me

I've worked in mental health for over 13 years. I specialize in helping adults cope with anxiety, depression, substance misuse and trauma. I strive to help people to feel relief and become their best selves!

I've worked in mental health for over 13 years. I have an LPC (licensed professional counselor) and an LAC (Licensed Addiction Counselor). Every day I am astonished by the strength and resilience of those I work with. My main focus is to create a brave and comfortable space for you to express your thoughts and emotions, teach skills, and help you reach YOUR goals. I have experience working with depression, anxiety, trauma, and substance abuse. I've also worked in close connection with the LGBTQ+ and HIV+ communities since 2010. I am here to listen, provide support, and aide growth!

I use the modes of cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT) to help build skills to improve communication, to understand emotions more fully, and to connect with a sense of hope despite difficult circumstances. I use EMDR to help people reprocess trauma that’s impacting their ability to move forward and manage addiction or substance misuse. No matter what mode I use, ultimately, I focus on connecting with the person to validate their experience, explore and reveal their unique strengths, to build skills, and feel hope.

Understandably, some may be hesitant to try therapy virtually. However, I offer the same quality care as if I were in-person. I focus on listening, validating and supporting my clients. I also use easily accessible platforms to decrease the technology burden. It may take a few sessions to adjust, but most people find they are meeting their needs effectively.

No matter what mode I use, ultimately, I focus on connecting with the person to validate their experience, explore and reveal their unique strengths, to build skills, and feel hope. If this sounds like what you are looking for, reach out and I'd love to hear more about you and help you find your light!
