About me

I'm a doctoral-trained clinical social worker specializing in psychotherapy for adolescent girls, with seven years of prior work in Bay Area schools.

If you're a parent worrying about your adolescent daughter, you're in the right place. Maybe she's more anxious than she used to be. Maybe school has become harder than it should be. Maybe she doesn't quite seem like herself, and family conversations that used to feel easy now feel hard. You're starting to feel like something is really impacting her, and you've noticed differences in her behavior.

My practice is built around a simple idea: adolescent girls deserve to be seen as their whole selves, with their experience, their voice, and their development treated with real attention rather than as problems to be solved. I work with girls ages 12 to 18 navigating the specific pressures of this developmental moment, and with the parents figuring out how to support them.

Sessions are patient and developmentally attuned. Your daughter can bring her whole self, from the parts she shows the world to the parts she keeps hidden, and the parts she's still figuring out. We move at her pace, paying careful attention to what she's navigating, and trusting that growth follows from being genuinely understood rather than being rushed to change.

Parent consultation is available as part of ongoing treatment, because supporting your daughter and supporting your family often move together. Sessions can address anxiety, depression, identity development, family dynamics, social relationships, and school-related pressures.

I'm Chelsea Taber-Cory, DSW, LCSW, PPSC, a licensed clinical social worker with doctoral training from Tulane University and seven years of clinical experience across Bay Area schools. This background means I understand adolescent girls not just clinically, but in the context of the schools and families where they live. My clinical work draws from attachment-based, emotionally focused, and feminist-informed traditions.

The Attuned Practice is located at 1801 Bush Street in San Francisco (Lower Pacific Heights, in the Healing Arts Building). Sessions are available in-person or via telehealth throughout California.

I'm a private-pay, out-of-network provider. Superbills are available for out-of-network insurance reimbursement, and a sliding-scale option is available through Open Path Collective.

If you're wondering whether specialty therapy might help your daughter, I'd welcome a conversation. Please reach out for a 15-minute conversation. We'll talk briefly about what your family is navigating, whether my practice might be a fit for your daughter, and what starting therapy could look like. Thank you for the care you're bringing to your daughter. Your efforts matter.
