About me
I am an experienced individual, couple, and family therapist who has been in practice since 1977, working with children, adolescents, couples and families, with advanced training with certification in Bowen Family Systems (Family Institute of Westchester,) and Strategic Family Family Therapy (Family Insitute of Washington, DC.) I have been trained in Internal Family Systems (Levels I, II and III.) I have also been a senior adjunct professor at Adelphi University for 40 years, teaching in the MSW program.
I have been privileged to have the opportunity to train in Internal Family Systems, Levels I, II, and III,) an extraordinary approach developed by Dr. Dick Schwartz, that recognizes that each individual has a multiplicity of parts or feeling states (mangers, firefighters and exiles,) with the emphasis that each part has a protective intent. This approach emphasizes the development of a relationship between one's Self and one's myriad of parts (or feeling states.) I am passionate about this model that leads to incredible growth and evolution in the relationships between each individual's parts and Self and their relationships with others in their world. I would love to share this exciting approach with you, an approach that leads to self-transformation, the transformation of parts when they release their burdens and get what they needed from the Self. Compassion for our traumatized and wounded younger parts begins your journey.
