About me
Dr. Amanda R. Malixi is a Licensed Professional Counselor Supervisor and Doctor of Educational Leadership specializing in integrative therapeutic care, performance psychology, and clinical supervision.
She is the founder of Gravitas Excelsa Center, a private practice in Houston, Texas serving high performers, athletes, and emerging adults through an integrated model that addresses the mind, body, and spirit as one cohesive whole. Her clinical framework — the Resilient Minds Model — draws from cognitive-behavioral therapy, nervous system regulation, gut-brain health science, and faith-informed formation.
She offers individual therapy, performance consulting, clinical supervision, and institutional partnerships.

Something isn't adding up. You can feel it — or you're watching someone you love feel it.
Maybe it's you. Maybe it's your teenager, your college kid, the person in your life who holds everything together and never asks for help. Either way, something underneath the functioning isn't right — and the usual answers haven't touched it.
The person I work with is driven and capable. They show up, they achieve, they manage. And quietly, they're exhausted in a way they can't quite name. Their body stays tense even when things are okay. Their mind is always slightly ahead of the moment, scanning. There's a version of themselves they perform so consistently they've almost forgotten it's a performance.
They probably haven't talked to anyone. That's not really their thing — or they don't think what they're carrying is serious enough, or they don't know how to start.
That's exactly where I come in.
I work with adolescents, athletes, and young adults between 13 and 35. My approach goes beyond talk. I work with the nervous system, not just the mind. I take nutrition, sleep, and lifestyle seriously as clinical factors — because they are. I take faith seriously if that's part of the picture. And I take ambition seriously, because it's not the problem. How it's being carried might be.
If you're the one struggling — I see you. If you're reaching out for someone else — I see them too, and I know how hard it is to watch.
Sessions are honest, unhurried, and different from anything you've tried before.
