About me
I am a highly skilled Licensed Professional Counselor. I have been licensed for nineteen years and in full-time practice for thirteen years. I have worked in many treatment contexts over my thirty-four year career to include maximum security correctional facilities, therapeutic foster care, university counseling, home-based counseling services and community mental health centers (homeless outreach, outpatient youth and adult substance abuse, parent-focused multidisciplinary teams for families at-risk of disruption, dual diagnosed residential treatment for for men, and case management for the seriously mentally ill where I served as a clinical supervisor). My extensive clinical experience in helping individuals with extremely complicated problems and situations has greatly equipped me to help individuals in the private practice setting. I specialize in working with the culturally different, the neurodivergent, chronic medical illnesses to include autoimmune disorders and the elderly.
Life has its unique challenges, which can lead to stress, depression, anxiety, feelings of emptiness, a sense of loneliness and other highly charged feelings and experiences. Are you in transition, a "transplant" to your area or maybe you have lived there all of your life? Are you having relationship problems? Going through a break-up, separation or divorce? Are you feeling "different" from others and/or experiencing difficulty in connecting with others? Maybe you are experiencing a crisis in your career, feeling mismatched/unfulfilled? Or are you feeling unhappy but can't figure out the source, the "why" you are feeling this way?
I have gathered over thirty-four years of experience working with people from all walks of life. My focus will be on your inherent ability to cope, adapt, heal and to grow from the challenges you currently face, all within the context of a safe, warm, understanding and caring therapeutic relationship.
I invite you to experience a welcoming, positive, supportive and highly reciprocal experience as we remedy the concerns that you bring into counseling "holistically", applying the lens of understanding to the context of your life and your relationships, all undertaken in absolute confidence.
