About me
I am a licensed professional counselor in Illinois who specializes in adult individual and couple therapy focusing on anxiety, depression, life transitions, relationship issues, chronic health/medical concerns, grief/loss, and LGBT+ mental health.
Whether you are starting therapy for the first time, or are returning and seeking out a new provider, the search for a therapist can be daunting. I am an experienced therapist who treats clients with warmth, compassion, and evidence-based support. I bring years of medical experience to therapy and help clients to better understand the mind-body connection. I enjoy working with all client demographics and value diversity in all its forms. I also focus on societal pressure and messaging as it relates to mental health.
In choosing me as a therapist, you will find a supportive ally on your road to wellness. I strive to create a safe and comfortable environment to promote meaningful healing. In our sessions, I am an active participant. You aren’t just "venting" into the void; you are gaining a supportive ally who provides meaningful feedback to help you heal and grow.
I primarily utilize psychodynamic therapy and incorporate techniques from acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), emotionally-focused therapy (EFT), cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT). However, I understand the importance of recognizing the unique needs of each individual or couple, and tailor my approach according to my clients' needs.
I trained at The Family Institute at Northwestern University where I received a Master's in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, and I am a nationally-certified counselor (NCC). I am also a licensed physician assistant, having trained at St. Francis University of Pennsylvania and University of Nebraska Medical School. This unique combination of training and experience allows me to better understand your symptoms and concerns in a more holistic and in-depth manner.
I offer in-office and Telehealth services. My office is located in the Andersonville neighborhood of Chicago and I provide Telehealth throughout Illinois. I am in-network with Blue Cross Blue Shield PPO, Anthem, Blue Choice, Cigna/Evernorth, and Aetna.
I offer free 15-minute consultations to meet and get to know each other, and encourage potential clients to ask questions to assure we are a good fit. I look forward to meeting you and learning more about you. Thank you for taking the time to learn a bit about me!
