About me

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate who is passionate about helping children, teens, adults, and families navigate anxiety, stress, emotional challenges, trauma, and life transitions in a supportive and compassionate environment.

Hi, I’m Devon Walker, M.Ed., LPC-Associate, supervised by Marissa Barranco, LPC-S. I believe therapy should feel like a safe, supportive space where you can feel heard, understood, and empowered to grow. My goal is to help clients build insight, confidence, and healthy coping skills while working through life’s challenges at a pace that feels comfortable for them.

I work with children, adolescents, adults, and families experiencing concerns such as anxiety, stress, emotional overwhelm, life transitions, self-esteem struggles, relationship challenges, behavioral concerns, and difficulties with emotional regulation. I especially enjoy helping children and teens learn how to better understand and express their emotions in healthy ways.

Before becoming a counselor, I spent years working in education, which gave me extensive experience supporting children and families through academic, emotional, and developmental challenges. I also own an early childhood learning program, which has further strengthened my understanding of child development, emotional growth, and family dynamics.

My counseling approach is warm, collaborative, and person-centered. I tailor therapy to each individual’s unique needs and may incorporate techniques from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), mindfulness, emotional regulation strategies, and strengths-based approaches to help clients meet their goals.

In addition to counseling, I am also the author of a children’s book focused on emotional wellness and mindfulness for children. I am passionate about creating a calm, supportive environment where clients of all ages feel comfortable being themselves.

Reaching out for support can feel overwhelming, but you do not have to navigate things alone. I would be honored to walk alongside you in your healing and growth journey.
