About me
Feeling overwhelmed, exhausted, or just done carrying it alone? I have been there. I am Devon Davasher, LCSW, a cisgender gay man offering LGBTQIA+ affirming telehealth therapy across Arkansas, Oklahoma, and Missouri. No judgment. No shame. No BS.
I became a therapist because I needed one.
I lost my mom when I was 18. That kind of loss reshapes you whether you are ready or not. In the years that followed I struggled with anxiety and depression and reached for whatever would take the edge off. Gaming, substances, anything that created a little distance from the pain. When I finally sat down with a therapist, it changed my life. Not because it fixed everything, but because for the first time I had a space to say the things I had never said out loud. As a gay man, I also know what it is like to carry parts of yourself quietly for longer than you should have had to. That lived experience shapes how I show up in the room.
That is what I want to build for you.
In addition to my LCSW, I hold credentials as a Certified Case Manager (CCM) and Certified Financial Social Worker (CFSW) with 13 years of clinical experience. I earned my Master of Social Work from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock and am a Certified STAR Provider, trained specifically to support military personnel and veterans.
I have a particular passion for working with queer and gender-diverse clients, people questioning their identity, and family members learning to support a loved one coming out. I also love working with older adults and veterans.
My primary specialty is Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART), an evidence-based approach developed by an EMDR-trained therapist that processes trauma without requiring you to relive every painful detail. ART combines elements of CBT, Gestalt therapy, and brief psychodynamic therapy alongside eye movements and imagery. I also draw from ACT, DBT, somatic therapy, mindfulness-based approaches, solution-focused therapy, and motivational interviewing. Always tailored to you.
I see everything through a trauma-informed lens and practice unconditional positive regard. No matter what you bring into the session, you will not be judged for it. I take a harm reduction approach to substance use and believe in personal autonomy. I am direct when the moment calls for it and use humor in therapy when it helps, because therapy does not always have to be grim to be effective.
Outside the therapy room you will find me captaining my adult kickball team, hustling at card games, camping, swimming, or eating my way through a new city. I am a concert person through and through, all genres but with a soft spot for rock and metal. I travel whenever I can and I will not pretend I am not excellent at Fortnite.
Ready to take that first step? Reach out today and let us figure out if we are a good fit.
With a background in trauma-informed therapies, including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART), I take an adaptable, evidence-based approach to each session. I’ve had the privilege of working with people from all walks of life, and I’m especially passionate about supporting military personnel (including those working through combat-related PTSD) and members of the LGBTQIA+ community (Hey, Fam!).
When we work together, it’s about creating a space where you can be unapologetically real—whether that means laughing, crying, or just letting yourself be. Therapy with me is a mix of humor, honesty, and exploration as we dive into your unique experiences, recognize patterns, and build self-acceptance and resilience.
Outside of work, I’m a big fan of all things games—whether it’s a classic board game, a round of cards, or the latest video game. I love traveling and exploring the outdoors, whether that’s hiking in the mountains or just a walk in a nearby park. Music fuels my energy (rock especially!), but I have an appreciation for a wide range of genres. Hit me with your favorites. I love discovering new music and my clients have assisted in building several epic playlists over the years.
If you’re ready to dig deep, maybe laugh a little, and take a fresh look at what matters to you, I’m here to help. Let’s work together to create a future that feels strong, balanced, and true to who you are. When you’re ready, I’m just a message away!
