About me
I am a licensed Clinical Social Worker in the state of Michigan. I have administered out-pt. behavioral health services to adults couples, teens and children since 1991, and have had a growing private practice since 1995.
I prefer to use an eclectic approach to treatment with a strong emphasis on cognitive behavioral principles and schema therapy. I am trained in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization & Reprocessing) and utilize it's advantages with a variety of presenting concerns. I also work with alternative treatments such as Energy Psychology (EFT), the CES devise (Alpha-Stim), and Sand Tray Therapy for those looking for a non-medical mode to symptom management and resolution. Play Therapy is used (directive and non-directive) as a regular modality for the younger clientele.
I treat individuals and couples suffering from trauma, mood and adjustment disorders, anxiety, grief/loss, conflict and behavioral problems, and substance use as well as process addiction disorders.
I believe that health and happiness is best obtained by maintaining "balance" in all areas of life, addressing "life's adversities" as they arise, and processing the accompanying emotions as one moves toward a healthy resolution.
