About me
I am an experienced clinical mental health counselor with a doctorate degree in psychology who works with the adult population including seniors.
Although I live in Utah, I am a liberal person, non-judgmental, and easy to connect with. Some people do well with a therapist who uses a direct approach, which is my style. My passion is watching someone grow from being a victim to a strong confident individual. I offer therapy and counseling to adults and enjoy working with seniors.
I have recently opened my own counseling practice, Talk To Me Counseling. I use telehealth which may sound intimidating and impersonal to some, but you will quickly find it is both personal and private, plus it is convenient and easy to use. I do not take insurance at this time. Talk to me if you have difficulty with the cost and I will consider how I can help you so that you get the therapy you need.
I test ages 10-60 for ADHD, diagnose, and provide psychoeducation in a three session package. I also offer treatment for trauma, grief, and people experiencing problems or confusion about stepping away from traditional Utah family values. Using a variety of treatment modalities, clients gain a sense of empowerment and an increase in self-esteem within a short period of time. Counseling for grief can be as short as 4 sessions but could take much longer depending on if the death was sudden and the kind of relationship that existed between client and deceased.
I also specialize in helping families with incarcerated loved ones gain an understanding of prison/jail life and culture. I offer psychoeducation to help families make the changes necessary to support their loved one while incarcerated and help him/her be successful upon release.
For those who may have an alcohol problem, if you are ready to make the changes necessary and are serious about stopping, please book an appointment. If you are a family member of a practicing alcoholic and are experiencing distress, please book an appointment. Help is waiting for you.
