About me
Hello, we can all use a listening ear every now and then. I am a compassionate licensed professional counselor with an unwavering commitment to optimizing individual growth. I have over ten years of experience serving youth, teenagers, adults and families within the school and community setting. The areas of therapeutic focus include academic achievement, anxiety, self-esteem, grief, post-secondary transitions, career planning, anger management, and interpersonal/family relationships.
My Master’s Degree is from the University of Detroit Mercy with specializations in school and community counseling. My approach to counseling is an eclectic blend of Solution Focused Brief Therapy, Narrative Therapy, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. I am also trained in Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavior Therapy. I believe in treating everyone with respect, sensitivity, and compassion. Every person has traveled a unique road in their life, be it a young child or a seasoned adult. I understand that counseling is not a one-size-fits-all, so collaboration is essential in developing a treatment plan that is suitable for your goals and emotional growth. I want to work with you as you travel down your road and make adjustments that are designed to help you achieve your goals and growth potential.
You have already begun the work to achieving your goals by seeking counseling, I commend you for taking this first step. Everyone needs a form of support in the journey of life. I will be honest with you as well as fair, supportive, and confidential. I believe in telling a person what they need to hear, even when it is not always what that person wants to hear to achieve goals. I look forward to meeting with you to develop strategies that will support you on your journey.
