About me
Hello! My name is Dawn Moore. Welcome to my practice. My approach to relationships and the therapeutic process is one of a genuine, objective, and respectful nature. Counseling has been proven to help many individuals, couples, families, and adolescents. I believe this is particularly true when you sincerely want change, you and your therapist are a good therapeutic fit, and you are willing to follow through with suggestions and changes that you and your counselor agree may be helpful. My job is to be an experienced and caring navigator on the journey to achieving the changes you seek. I look forward to working with you.
I work with individuals, couples, families and adolescents. My specialties are Attachment, Relationships, and Couples Therapy. I have expertise in Infidelity/Affair Repair, Communication/Conflict Resolution, Blended Family/Remarriage/Co-Parenting/Divorce Management and Recovery, Dating and Healthy Attachment Post Relational/Betrayal Trauma, Narcissistic Abuse Recovery, Grief/Loss, Stress Management/Trauma and Chronic Medical Conditions, Dealing with Neurodiversity in Relationships.
I would consider myself a Person Centered, Humanistic Therapist who values our relationship first and foremost. I have been trained in Family Systems Theories, and I use several of them as my backbone for treatment. I employ several attachment based theories, and I have expertise and training in EFT, DBT and CBT, and EMDR.
I received my Bachelors Degree in Psychology in 1998 from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, and I received my Masters Degree in Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy in 2001 from UNLV as well. I have been seeing clients in private work for over 20 years. I have been an AAMFT Approved Supervisor for over 15 years as well. I have worked in many capacities, including school counseling, teaching, juvenile justice, and community agency work as well. As of April 2023, I am primarily working as the Clinic Director at UNLVs Center for Individual, Couple, and Family Counseling at Kirk Kerkorian School of Medicine.
