About me

Even in the harshest seasons, growth is still possible. I work with teens and adults who feel overwhelmed, stretched thin, or stuck—offering therapy that blends CBT with art and nature-based practices to support meaningful, lasting change.

In the desert, life doesn’t disappear in harsh conditions—it adapts. It conserves, roots deeper, and waits for the right moment to bloom.

If you’re feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or stretched thin by anxiety, depression, ADHD, parenting stress, or a major life transition, you’re not alone. There are seasons in life that feel dry, uncertain, or heavy. Therapy offers a place to pause, reflect, and begin reconnecting with your own capacity for resilience and renewal.

I work with teens (16+) and adults, offering a supportive space where healing can unfold at your own pace. My approach integrates Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) with art therapy and horticultural therapy—blending practical tools with creative and nature-based ways of processing and growth. Some clients find clarity through conversation, others through creative expression, and many through reconnecting with the grounding presence of the natural world.

Together, we may focus on:

* Easing anxiety and calming an overactive mind
* Lifting the weight of depression and reconnecting with meaning
* Navigating ADHD with more structure, self-understanding, and compassion
* Strengthening your role and confidence as a parent
* Moving through life transitions with greater steadiness and clarity

At the heart of my work is the belief that resilience is not about pushing through or “toughing it out,” but about learning how to respond to challenges in ways that honor your needs, your limits, and your strengths. Like desert plants that store what they need and bloom when conditions allow, you already carry the potential for growth within you.

Our work together will be collaborative and tailored to you—whether that means building concrete coping strategies, exploring deeper emotional patterns, or engaging in creative and nature-based practices that help you reconnect with yourself in new ways.

I offer in-person sessions in Santa Fe, New Mexico, as well as telehealth services for flexibility and accessibility. I accept insurance and strive to make starting therapy feel approachable and supportive from the very beginning.

You don’t have to navigate this season alone. When you’re ready, I’m here to walk alongside you.

About Danielle Simmons

Danielle Simmons is a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor (LPCC) and Licensed Professional Art Therapist (LPAT) with over 15 years of experience supporting children, adolescents, adults, and families. She is also a Registered Horticultural Therapist (HTR), bringing a deeply integrative and nature-based approach to her work.

Danielle’s practice is rooted in the concept of desert resilience—the understanding that even in the harshest conditions, growth, healing, and transformation are possible. Just as desert landscapes hold the capacity to bloom after periods of drought, Danielle believes that individuals possess an innate ability to adapt, heal, and thrive when given the right support and environment.

Her therapeutic approach blends cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), art therapy, and horticultural therapy, offering clients multiple pathways for self-expression, insight, and change. Whether through conversation, creative process, or connection with the natural world, Danielle works collaboratively with clients to cultivate resilience, increase self-awareness, and foster meaningful growth.

In her private practice, Danielle offers a grounded, compassionate space where clients can explore their inner landscape, reconnect with their strengths, and move toward healing—at their own pace, and in their own way.
