About me
Inquiring Minds Counseling & Consultation was founded under the inherent reciprocity between human connection—I as a therapist do not inherently know you better than you. In our process together we will collaborate, inquire into your story, curiously reflect on the uniqueness that is you and the experiences that have led you to this point. Together we will work to piece together the webs of connection between your formative experiences, family, culture, gender identity, religious or spiritual orientation, community influences and trauma. Together we will find that you are not defective, broken or in need of repair—in fact, you are coming more fully into who you are meant to be. Therapy is the start of standing firm in your authenticity even when the discomfort of vulnerability challenges us. Struggles we can tackle: Anxiety, Depression, Complex Trauma, Fawning/People Pleasing, Boundaries/Assertive Communication, Attachment/Relationship Cultivation, Body Dysmorphia and more!
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in the State of Missouri holding over a decade of experience working in a variety of mental health spaces. I received my Master of Arts in Professional Counseling at Lindenwood University and continue to strive to better educate myself in the ever evolving world of psychotherapy and self-awareness through ongoing training.
I have provided clinical care in many different settings, including agency-based, in-home, residential, and outpatient therapeutic environments. I have experience working with persons struggling with depression, anxiety, substance abuse/dependence, co-occurring disorders, complex trauma, eating disorders, life transitions, family violence and parent/child relationships, attachment dynamics, gender and sexual identity, racial prejudice and LGBTQIA+-struggles. I am passionate in creating dynamic relationships that can provide both nurture and challenge as clients gain the insights necessary to forge new found self-awareness and cultivate change.
When I’m not holding therapeutic space, you can find me dancing with my 80 pound dog to whatever latest album makes me groove, hiking in the woods with my pals or soaking up an evening of dinner and movies with my husband.
