About me
I am a dedicated learner who is an experienced clinician working with families, couples, teens, and adults to build skills to minimize distress and optimize effective behaviors to live fulfilling lives.
I am open about my legal blindness. I am an adaptable and direct clinician who is passionate about collaboratively assisting teens, adults, and families to achieve their unique goals in a healthy manner. I combine counseling techniques with practical, problem solving approaches to strengthen behavioral, emotional, and mind-body functioning to manage stress and empower clients. I highly value a client-centered approach to therapy and behavioral therapies to meet clients where they are and with acceptance.
I have experience working with diverse concerns as relationship distress, trauma, issues with anger, anxiety, depression, persons with disabilities, domestic violence, life transitions, LGBTQ concerns, ADHD, Autism Spectrum, and parenting concerns.
In the first session, I conduct a mental health assessment to gather information about you and your needs. While I do ask a lot of questions, it is intended to gather information in order to effectively meet your needs. We will discuss your goals and preferences for treatment. Simultaneously, I combine assessment time with authentic banter and getting to know your values, strengths, and interests as well.
