About me

I’m Danielle Forma, a Licensed Professional Counselor who provides individual therapy to those struggling with a variety of life’s challenges.
Asking for help is a sign of strength and courage. Recognizing that you can’t do everything on your own is often the first step toward achieving wellness in today’s fast-paced and demanding world. At times, the stressors we face can feel overwhelming, creating an imbalance between what’s being asked of us and the resources we have to cope.

I believe that each of us possesses an innate capacity for healing and growth—an inner strength that, when nurtured, can guide us toward greater balance and fulfillment. My goal as a therapist is to provide a safe and supportive environment where you feel seen, validated, heard, and understood. Together, we’ll create space for you to express your authentic self and explore the challenges you’re facing. The therapeutic relationship we build will serve as the foundation for your healing and recovery.

Being a therapist is more than a profession for me—it’s a true passion. I find deep fulfillment in getting to know people on a genuine, personal level and helping them navigate life’s challenges. In our work together, my goal is to guide you through emotional difficulties, help lighten the burdens you carry, and empower you to develop a healthier, more balanced mindset. I believe that healing begins with a trusting, compassionate, and collaborative relationship. Together, we’ll set meaningful goals, explore your experiences, and identify strategies to support your growth, resilience, and well-being.

A Philadelphia, Pennsylvania native, I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Psychology at Drexel University and received my Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Fairfield University. Completing my clinical internships in outpatient community settings and working with diverse populations helped me to learn skills in crisis management and trauma treatment. My journey continued on as I provided psychotherapy in a group practice setting treating adults and adolescents struggling with a broad range of mental health concerns including anxiety, depression, relationship struggles, grief and loss, childhood emotional neglect (CEN), and ADHD, among others. Aside from my private practice, I enjoy my role as a campus supervisor at Fairfield University working with masters level students who are progressing towards their clinical mental health counseling degrees. I regularly seek out professional development trainings to enhance my clinical abilities and knowledge within the mental health field. I attended Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) training for anxiety at the Beck Institute in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and received additional training in a variety of theoretical orientations to be able to adapt Psychodynamic, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Strength-based, Positive Psychology, and Mindfulness/Meditation tools and strategies to my clients’ treatment. I have also obtained continuing education training in several areas including Grief and Loss, Self-Regulation, Working with Emotional Triggers, Childhood Emotional Neglect, Somatic Experiencing for Trauma, and others.

Through my marriage and the shared experience of raising our young adult daughters, I have gained valuable insights and life lessons that have enriched my personal growth and deepened my professional perspective as a mental health clinician.

Our work together will be uniquely tailored to your individual needs, as I do not believe in a “one-size-fits-all” approach to mental health. Together, we’ll embark on a journey that draws upon my ability to build a strong therapeutic connection, my clinical expertise, and my deep commitment to holistic wellness. I view therapy as a collaborative process—one where I take the time to understand who you are, your strengths, areas of growth, current coping strategies, and the goals you wish to achieve. Through this process, we’ll work to foster healing, growth, and greater balance in your life.
