About me
I have been a Licensed Mental Health Counselor for over 10 years. I have worked with a variety of clients, from ages 11 to 80! I am also a Credentialed Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Counselor.
I am dedicated to assisting clients in finding the path to better mental health. I utilize a variety of methods - CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy), DBT (Dialectal Behavioral Therapy), Person-centered therapy, solution focused therapy, mindfulness and meditation and trauma-informed. I provide a toolbox of coping skills for client to utilize as needed to assist in decreasing symptoms.
An ideal client to me is someone who wants to improve their mental health and practice self-care. Therapy not only can improve mental health, but it can also improve communication skills and help the client gain insight into themselves. The client may not know exactly what is causing their symptoms/emotional responses, but therapy can help bring out what is inside, what is down deep. The ideal client is someone who is motivated, practices skills in between sessions, the rest will fall into place!
Therapy is about communication. I am open minded and understanding, compassionate to whatever the client may be going through. I believe that we never stop learning or trying to better ourselves. What is most important about therapy is having a connection - and working with that to be the best you can be! I am excited to start this journey with you!
