About me

I am a clinical psychologist (licensed in NY and NJ) who works with patients struggling with mood disorders, eating issues (binge, disordered, and restrictive eating), perfectionism, and complex trauma. The first several sessions involve me getting to know you better (as well as you becoming familiar with my approach). Change may feel impossible, but we will help you rediscover what gives you hope and meaning in your life again.

I am a warm, interactive, and compassionate licensed psychologist who sees young, middle-aged, and older adults for individual, couples, and group psychotherapy. I have helped those suffering from depression and anxiety, major life transitions, grief and loss, relationship conflicts, complex trauma (such as emotional, physical, and sexual abuse), eating concerns (binge, disordered, and restrictive eating), perfectionism, as well as struggles with shame, self-worth, and feeling abandoned. I have worked with people of various ethnic, racial, religious, sexual (LGBTQIA+), and social identities. Also, as a first-time parent, I am aware of the many struggles baked into parenthood and encourage parents to talk about their experiences since it stirs up mixed and complex feelings such as exhaustion, frustration, happiness, and joy (and many more).

I work from a psychodynamic and relational perspective, which means we look at the impact of your past and present relationships with family and friends, narrowing in on how they have impacted you, your sense of self, and your various identities/roles. You may be aware of these influences, but there’s a great chance we will uncover more. We will explore how your past accommodations helped you earlier in life but no longer serve your growth. This work can sometimes be painful, so I balance our therapeutic work with humor and irreverence when appropriate to add levity to our time together.

I am very patient-centered, meaning I will focus on what you most need to address, always with a mind to your overall goals for treatment. I am very interested in the authentic and unfiltered reactions you may have to the process and to me, particularly those related to more significant struggles you have (or had) in relationships. All of this will be, in essence, to provide you with a space to expand on and better understand your thoughts, emotions, and reactions in hopes that this process will lead to positive change in your life.

I earned my doctorate from Adler University. I aim to earn your trust in creating with you a therapeutic relationship and a therapeutic space that is safe and supportive - so you can freely and increasingly speak your truth - so that together we can find your path to healing, one that is unique to you, freeing you up to experience yourself as more whole and able to live a more authentic and fulfilling life.
