About me
I am an experienced, dually licensed therapist in North Carolina who is dedicated to helping individuals manage and cope with substance abuse and various mental health concerns.
Finding the right therapist is important. Therapy is yours and being able to develop a therapeutic relationship can take time. I work with all my clients to ensure that they feel safe, and heard while working through the concerns that bring them into therapy. I am licensed in mental health and addictions and certified in trauma. I am a US Navy veteran and being able to work with veterans is a passion of mine as well. I have been in the mental health and addictions field since 2012 and have worked in different outpatient settings as well as an opiate treatment clinic. I have experience in various areas that allows me to relate a little bit to those I work with. I utilize various methods and approaches when engaging with individuals including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Acceptance Commitment Therapy (ACT), talk therapy and various other methods to help and guide individuals on overcoming concerns with substance abuse, depression, anxiety, trauma, grief, personality disorders, setting boundaries, life skills, domestic violence, and more. I also work with domestic violence offenders, victims, and do mental health and substance abuse assessments. I am experienced in working with adolescents/teenagers, adults, and veteran’s. I offer in person sessions in Statesville, NC or you have the option for Telehealth services from the comfort of your home, or wherever you feel safe and comfortable with privacy. I can also do group sessions for substance abuse, veterans and other life topics. I accept Aetna, BCBSNC insurances, and Medicaid. I also take self pay clients and offer affordable rates for those without insurance or who are out of network, as well as providing sliding scale fees if needed. I am honored to offer discounts for teachers and veterans. Individuals I work with will get a client portal that allows for access to scheduling, billing and worksheets that we review in session, as well as secure messaging. I will work with you to create achievable goals in your treatment plan that can help overcome difficulties and rebuild strength, confidence and the ability to manage and cope with tough times. We are all individual and while we may go through similar situations, not all approaches, methods and tools work the same for each of us. With that being said, I will work with you to find the best way to manage your concerns and achieve your goals using a variety of researched backed methods combined with creative thinking.
