About me

I help individuals and couples heal, grow, and reconnect with themselves by providing a compassionate, judgment-free space for meaningful change.

Welcome to SerenityRoots Counseling. My name is Dania S. Carter, and I created this practice to offer a safe, nurturing space where healing and transformation can begin. I specialize in working with adults and couples navigating life transitions, relationship challenges, trauma, anxiety, grief, and recovery from substance use.

My approach is warm, collaborative, and grounded in respect for your unique story. I integrate evidence-based modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), and Solution-Focused Therapy, while also drawing from mindfulness and trauma-informed practices. Whether you’re facing uncertainty in your relationship, feeling overwhelmed by life stressors, or ready to explore your deeper emotional patterns, I’m here to support you every step of the way.

Clients often come to me feeling stuck or misunderstood—and leave with a stronger sense of clarity, empowerment, and connection. My goal is to help you discover your inner resilience, develop healthy coping tools, and make meaningful, lasting changes that align with your values and goals.

SerenityRoots Counseling is intentionally designed to be accessible and inclusive. I do not accept insurance, but I offer a sliding scale and a limited number of pro bono sessions because I believe therapy should be available to everyone ready to do the work.

If you're looking for a therapist who will walk beside you with compassion and curiosity—not judgment—I’d love to connect. You don’t have to figure everything out on your own. Let’s work together to help you grow through what you’ve been through.
