About me
As a trauma-informed therapist specializing in family dynamics, I believe in the power of connection and collaboration to heal and empower. I leverage my cultural sensitivity and expertise in evidence-based humanistic modalities to help individuals, couples, and families navigate challenges like trauma, anxiety, depression, and family conflict. Witnessing positive transformations in families fuels my passion for this work.
Dana is a registered Associate Marriage and Family Therapist and Professional Clinical Counselor specializing in trauma-informed therapy. She is passionate about helping clients heal and empower themselves through connection and collaboration. Dana is a Certified Domestic Violence Counselor and Disaster Mental Health Volunteer with the American Red Cross. She uses evidence-based behavioral, humanistic, and psychodynamic approaches to help her clients navigate challenges such as trauma, anxiety, depression, family conflict, and life transitions.
Dana is pursuing a focus on trauma healing related to individual and family systems, particularly the influence of unresolved past and generational trauma, and its impacts on couple and family relationships. This includes addressing the co-occurring artifacts of trauma, like substance use disorders and self-harm.
Dana believes in validating her clients' lived experiences. She sees the therapist's role as someone who creates a safe, non-judgmental space where people can feel empowered to gain a deeper understanding of themselves.
As someone in recovery, Dana has seen firsthand how lives can be transformed in the safety of a healing space. From her own healing, Dana has developed a deep sense of commitment to bring healing to the world through her work with individuals, couples, and families.
Dana earned her Master of Arts Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy with an emphasis in Clinical Counseling from Touro University. Dana received a Bachelor of Sciences in Design Communication from the University of Minnesota: Twin Cities, followed by a certification in Art Direction. Before becoming a psychotherapist, Dana enjoyed an extensive career in advertising as an Art Director and Creative Director.
