About me
I specialize in trauma resolution to help individuals, couples, and families heal from anxiety, depression, complex trauma, and life transitions, using Somatic EMDR, IFS, CBT, and Polyvagal-informed care in a warm, collaborative space.
Hi, I'm Dana. I'm a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT 164611) based in California. I specialize in trauma-informed therapy for individuals, couples, and families.
I know how much courage it takes to reach out, and my goal is to create a space where you feel safe, seen, and supported, not judged, not rushed. My style is warm, grounded, and authentic. Clients often tell me they feel at ease with me, and I bring that quality into every session.
I believe in getting to the root cause of what's holding you back, not just managing symptoms. My approach is holistic, evidence-based, and tailored to your unique needs. I draw from:
- Somatic EMDR to help you process and release stored trauma
- Internal Family Systems (IFS) to understand and heal the different parts of you
- Polyvagal Theory (PVT) to build a felt sense of safety in your nervous system
- CBT & TF-CBT for practical tools to manage anxiety, depression, and distressing thoughts
- DBT for emotional regulation, distress tolerance, and interpersonal effectiveness
- Emotionally Focused Couple Therapy (EFT-C) & The Gottman Method to strengthen relationships and rebuild connection
- Family systems approaches to address intergenerational patterns and attachment disruption
I specialize in trauma and complex trauma resolution, anxiety and depression treatment, substance use disorders, life transitions, grief and loss, and domestic violence recovery. I also support clients navigating burnout, workplace stress, identity change, and dual diagnosis concerns.
I earned my Master of Arts in Marriage and Family Therapy with a focus on Clinical Counseling from Touro University (summa cum laude), and I hold certifications as a Somatic EMDR Practitioner and Domestic Violence Counselor.
My clinical experience spans community organizations, Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOP), and private practice. I've provided individual, couples, family, and group therapy for people, including survivors of intimate partner violence, individuals in substance use recovery, and families navigating intergenerational conflict. I conduct comprehensive biopsychosocial assessments, develop individualized treatment plans, and collaborate with multidisciplinary care teams to ensure my clients receive well-rounded, integrated support.
Before becoming a therapist, I spent over 20 years as a marketing executive with Fortune 100 companies. That high-pressure world gave me firsthand insight into workplace stress, burnout, and identity change. If you're navigating a major career transition, recovering from professional burnout, or feeling disconnected from who you are, I understand, and I can help.
My practice is culturally responsive, LGBTQ+ affirming, and committed to accessible care for underserved and diverse populations. Whether you're facing trauma, anxiety, depression, relationship conflict, family challenges, substance use concerns, or grief, you don't have to navigate it alone.
Therapy isn't about fixing what's "wrong". It's an opportunity to build self-awareness, resilience, and lasting change. My goal is to help you reclaim confidence, heal old wounds, and create relationships that feel balanced, connected, and real.
It would be an honor to walk alongside you in that process.
