Damian Vallelonga, Dr.

I am a Clinical Psychologist with over 50 years of experience as a psychotherapist, treating individuals between the ages of 13 and 65. I have been in private practice since 1987. I treat individuals with anxiety and depression as well as with victims of sexual abuse and perpetrators of both contact and non-contact sexual offenses.

I ran an outpatient clinic in McKeesport and ClaIrton, PA for 5 years. I worked as a psychologist at Hutchings Psychiatric Center in Syracuse. NY for 24 years and ran the Outpatient Adolescent Department for 12 and 1/2 years. I was also ordained as a Roman Catholic priest in St. Peter's Basilica in Rome, Italy and served for 5 years as an Assistant Pastor in a couple of parishes in the NY Archdiocese. During that time I also taught Theology at St. Thomas Aquinas College in Sparkhill, NY and taught Italian and English at Cathedral Prep in Manhattan. I also completed all my course work for a Doctorate in Theology before leaving the active priesthood, getting married to my wife and beginning my coursework in Psychology at Duquesne University in Pittsburgh, Pa. I received my Doctorate in 1986 and my dissertation was an empirical study of the emotions of being-embarrassed and being-ashamed-of-oneself. I have a daughter and a son and five grandchildren. My wife of 54 years passed away in Dec,. 2024.
