About me
I’m Dale Karl, LCMHC, and I provide online therapy for adults across North Carolina. I specialize in anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, and disordered eating, including binge eating and bulimia. My approach is warm, collaborative, and non-judgmental, offering a safe space where you can feel understood and supported while working toward meaningful change.
Many of the people who come to see me feel overwhelmed, stuck, or exhausted from carrying things on their own for far too long. You might be living with anxiety that never seems to quiet down, depression that makes everyday life feel heavy, relationship struggles that leave you feeling hurt or disconnected, or eating concerns such as binge eating or bulimia that feel confusing and out of control. You may feel like you’ve tried to manage on your own and nothing has really helped—or you might not even know exactly what’s wrong, only that something doesn’t feel right. Whatever brings you here, you don’t have to face it alone.
My therapeutic style is warm, conversational, and collaborative. I believe therapy works best when you feel safe, understood, and accepted just as you are. I don’t see people as diagnoses or labels—I see you as a whole person doing your best in a complicated world. Together, we create a space where you can be honest without fear of judgment, where it’s okay to talk about the hard things, and where you’re met with care and genuine understanding.
In our work, we’ll gently explore what’s happening beneath the surface—your thoughts, emotions, patterns, and relationships—to better understand what’s keeping you stuck. I help you untangle what you’re experiencing so things feel clearer and more manageable. Alongside deeper insight, I also provide practical tools and strategies you can use in your daily life to feel more grounded, more in control, and more confident moving forward.
I draw from a range of therapeutic approaches and tailor therapy to your unique needs and goals. There is no one-size-fits-all path to healing, and I work at a pace that feels safe and comfortable for you. Whether you’re seeking relief from anxiety or depression, working through relationship challenges, or addressing long-standing struggles with food and self-worth, our sessions will focus on meaningful change and personal growth—not just symptom management.
I have extensive experience working with adults dealing with disordered eating, including bulimia and binge eating. I understand how isolating and shame-filled these struggles can feel, and I provide a compassionate, non-judgmental space to help you better understand your relationship with food, emotions, and self. My goal is to help you move toward greater peace, balance, and self-acceptance.
I proudly affirm and support clients of all sexual orientations, gender identities, and cultural backgrounds. Creating a safe, inclusive environment where every person feels respected and valued is central to my work.
Whether this is your first time in therapy or you’re returning after a break, you are welcome here. Reaching out for help can feel vulnerable, but it is also a powerful first step toward change. Therapy offers the opportunity to feel truly seen and supported while learning new ways to move through life’s challenges with greater clarity and confidence.
If you’re ready to begin—or even just thinking about it—I invite you to reach out. You don’t have to do this alone.
