About me
I am an experienced licensed professional counselor who has worked with adult clients and couples for 30+ years. My counseling journey is driven by a passion for helping others discover who they are underneath the roles they play and the self-protective strategies they learned early in life. As adults (and with couples) these self protective strategies are barriers that keep us from authentic and honest relationships.
Hi, I am a licensed professional counselor with over 30 years of experience working with adult individuals and couples. My approach centers on helping clients overcome self-protective behaviors that developed early in life. These patterns tend to present problems in adult relationships creating difficulty in connecting to others, especially our most significant relationships. My core values in working with clients include authenticity, empathy, and unconditional acceptance.
During the last 25 years I have also led over 4,000 participants through "The Barnabas Journey," a personal growth workshop in Dallas, Texas.
I work with clients of all backgrounds, including gay and lesbian individuals and couples. I prefer in-person sessions while allowing for occasional online meetings.
My heart desire is to help my clients use their pain and challenges to find new vision for their life. Anyone can begin again with an honest look at their past, hope for a better future and the tools to make their dreams a reality.
