My therapy and counseling practice is located in Maplewood just East of Maplewood Mall on County Road D. I have worked with children, families, and individuals in the Twin Cities metro area since 1976. My specialties include difficult adolescent and adult issues, cases of mental illness complicated by substance abuse, and intransigent relational dynamics.

I work on a referral bases, and in collaboration, with physicians, clergy, school counselors, county social workers, and the Minnesota Board of Social Work, as well as colleagues and chemical dependency facilities.

Urgent appointments are handled within 48 hours. Established patients can contact me as needed, and are provided my cell phone number.

I am an in-network provider for some major insurance carriers and will work with you to determine coverages and payment options.

I work with difficult and complex issues, providing treatment based on whole life developmental theory and strength focused crisis management. I specialize in treating oppositional, defiant kids and their families, and adults facing overwhelming emotional conflict and relational situations.

My technique is interpersonal and draws on strength focused, psychodynamic and psychoanalytic theory. Additionally, my practice is informed by cognitive behavioral therapy, EMDR, neuropsychological, behavioral and other research supported and practice proven ideas.

I am a Fellow of the Minnesota Society for Clinical Social Work and a Board Certified Diplomate of the American Board of Examiners in Clinical Social Work. I am trained in EMDR therapy by the Eye Monement Desensitization and Reprocessing International Association. I was a founding partner and Chief Executive Officer of River City Mental Health Clinic and have worked in executive out-placement.
