Christopher Lopez, MSW, LICSW, C-DBT
Licensed Clinical Social Worker
I am a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker and a certified Dialectical Behavior therapy clinician, who is dedicated and honored to work with clients, as they learn to cope with anxiety, depression, and other issues that may arise on this crazy journey we call “life”.
Do your emotions feel just too overwhelming to you? Like they control your life, and not the other way around? I'll admit, emotions can suck sometimes, but they don't have to be a constant struggle in your life. There is a way out, and to have a life worth living. One that has a balance of joy and sadness, but not overwhelmingly so! Trust me, I've been there and back. If you're feeling open and ready to not keep doing the same shit day in and day out, let's start this journey toward healing, together.
I have experience that spans a wide range of practice settings, while providing psychotherapy to individuals, families and groups. My areas of focus surround, but are not limited to, depression, anxiety, life/relationship transitions, trauma recovery, personality disorders, addictions, and LGBTQIA2s+ issues.
I pull from a variety of evidence based treatment modalities such as Mindfulness, Brief Psychodynamic, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, and Hypnotherapy to help guide assessment and treatment. There is no “one-size-fits-all” approach to treatment, so I'll collaborate and meet you where you are at to determine what the “best fit”, and course of action is to assist you on accomplishing your goals.
I'm a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker who believes in honoring and validating the inherent wisdom each individual carries along with them as they embark on a journey toward healing.
I am a certified Dialectical Behavior Therapist, and am currently undergoing certification in Heart Centered Hypnotherapy. I only offer online/tele-therapy sessions.
When I'm not helping clients reach their ultimate goals and beyond, my 6 cats keep me very busy, and my wife tries to keep me grounded throughout it all.
