About me
I provide integrative, CBT-based therapy for children, adults, couples, and families, with a focus on trauma and PTSD, anxiety, and depression. Drawing on twenty years of military service and training at a Level I trauma center, I work often with service members, veterans, and their families. In affiliation with Honolulu Psychology Collective.
Whether you're carrying something you've never said out loud, or you've managed for years and it's finally catching up, therapy can give you somewhere to put it down. I work with children, adolescents, adults, couples, and families experiencing trauma and PTSD, anxiety, depression, difficult life transitions, and the strain those place on parenting and relationships. I have a particular commitment to service members, veterans, and military families.
My approach is integrative and grounded in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. For trauma I draw on Cognitive Processing Therapy and Prolonged Exposure; with younger children and their caregivers, I work on the parent-child relationship directly, coaching caregivers during sessions. I practice measurement-based care, which means we track progress with real measures rather than impressions, so the map of your recovery stays explicit. My training in psychological and neuropsychological assessment helps distinguish trauma symptoms from other conditions, so treatment targets the right thing.
Before psychology I served twenty years in the U.S. Army, finishing as a First Sergeant. I completed trauma-focused training at a Level I trauma center and am a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional. I practice under the supervision of Allana Coffee, PhD, in affiliation with Honolulu Psychology Collective.
