Christlyn McCaskill, MA

I am an experienced art therapist and counselor dedicated to providing a supportive and collaborative therapeutic environment. Practicing in Maryland since 2020, I have worked with individuals of all ages across a range of settings, including hospitals, trauma clinics, partial hospitalization, intensive outpatient programs, and community mental health centers.

Taking a holistic and client-centered approach to mental health, I integrate traditional counseling techniques with the creative process to help clients explore their conscious and unconscious thoughts, feelings, and experiences. Through art making, I aim to support individuals in processing and communicating emotions, strengthening coping skills, and reconnecting with their sense of self.

I earned my Master’s degree in Art Therapy from The George Washington University and my Bachelor’s degree in Studio Art from Goucher College. I am a Licensed Clinical Professional Art Therapist (LCPAT) and Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) in Maryland, as well as a nationally registered and board-certified art therapist (ATR-BC). I am also a Board-Approved Supervisor for graduate-level art therapists (LGPAT) and counselors (LGPC) in Maryland. Committed to ongoing professional development, I am currently a Doctoral Candidate in Community Care and Counseling with a focus on Traumatology at Liberty University
