About me

I am an LCSW with 35 plus years of experience. I am also a Senior Lecture in an MSW program in NJ so I understand the concerns and needs of humans at various stages of their lives. I have expertise in Intimate Partner Violence and trauma as well as individuals dealing with the Court Systems.

In addition to my experience as an LCSW and a Social Work Educator, I am also a Licensed Attorney with 15 + years of experience in family court matters. I am a mediator for Divorce, Custody and probate matters. As an educator I have taught all the foundation course in and MSW program and I developed and teach in a Forensic Social Work concentration. In addition the IPV and trauma experience, I also am experienced in anxiety, depression, LGBTIQ individual and family needs, and I am working on certifications for Adult ADHD. I approach my work with a Strengths Based, Solution Focused perspective and while I may tend to use CBT interventions primarily, I believe in an eclectic approach and will use assessment theories and intervention planning that best need my clients' needs. I am trained in EMDR, Ericksonian Hypnotherapy and Gottman Marital Therapy. In addition, I have had training with David Burns on Cognitive Behavioral therapy, Alfred Kadushin on Social Work Clinical Supervision, David Mandel's Domestic Violence Assessment for Perpetrators and I am currently studying and incorporating Marsha Linehan's theories on Dialectal Behavioral Therapy into my work.
I have been able to combine my social work and legal knowledge and experience in services such as mediation, parenting coordination, reunification therapy, guardian ad litem and Family Violence Assessments. In fact I have been a consultant for our child welfare agency on the Domestic Violence Liason program, and have provided education to CW worker on Domestic Violence and Child Abuse and Neglect protocols, Supervisors and effective supervision in Domestic Violence Matters and Domestic Violence assessment and interventions for batterers.
