About me
I am an experienced mental health counselor who can help teens and adults with anxiety, depression and just managing life's challenges.
A Place to Feel Understood, Rediscover Your Strengths, and Move Forward
Life can be challenging, especially when anxiety, family conflict, parenting struggles, school stress, or major life changes leave you feeling overwhelmed or unsure of what to do next. Perhaps you are worried about your child or teenager, struggling to navigate a difficult family situation, or finding that the strategies that once worked no longer seem to help. You may simply feel stuck and want life to feel different. Whatever brings you to counseling, you deserve to be heard, understood, and supported without judgment.
I am Christine Abrahams, Ed.D., a licensed mental health counselor, educator, and clinical supervisor with extensive experience helping adolescents, parents, and adults navigate life's challenges. My background in both counseling and education gives me a unique perspective on the emotional, behavioral, family, and school-related issues that can affect our well-being. I understand that behind a troubling behavior, a difficult relationship, or an anxious thought, there is often a deeper story that deserves attention and compassion.
My approach is collaborative, creative, and strengths-based. Rather than simply focusing on what is wrong, I help clients recognize their existing strengths, understand patterns that may be holding them back, and discover new ways of responding to life's challenges. Depending on your needs, our work may include practical strategies for managing anxiety, developing emotional regulation, improving communication, navigating parenting challenges, strengthening relationships, and building resilience. I believe counseling should be more than talking about problems; it should help you gain insight, develop tools you can actually use, and begin experiencing meaningful change in your everyday life.
I especially enjoy helping young people who are struggling emotionally or behaviorally, parents who want to reconnect with their children and feel more confident in their parenting, and adults who are ready to make a change but aren't quite sure where to begin. I recognize that every person and family is different, so I tailor our work to your individual needs, goals, and circumstances.
You don't have to have everything figured out before reaching out. You simply need a willingness to begin. My goal is to create a safe, supportive space where you can feel comfortable being yourself, explore what is getting in the way, and discover new possibilities for your life and relationships. If you are ready to feel less overwhelmed, understand yourself or your child more deeply, and move toward a more fulfilling future, I would welcome the opportunity to work with you.
