About me
Hello! My name is Christie. I hold a Master’s Degree in Social Work from the University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Licensed Clinical Addictions Specialist with close to 15 years of experience providing direct care services to individuals with mental health and substance use disorders. I have a passion and clinical interest in working with women’s issues, multicultural intervention, grief, dual diagnosis, caregivers stress. I have an extensive history of assisting clients with the following issues: Anxiety, Depression, Relationship Issues, Coping Skills, Stress, Life Transitions, and Addiction.
I use an eclectic approach when working with people as well as individually tailor treatment to the individual’s personal needs. I often use techniques that are derived from Cognitive Behavioral therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Mindfulness Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, Person-Centered Therapy, and Trauma Focused Therapy.
