About me
I help the ones who keep showing up for everyone else while silently falling apart, guiding high-functioning adults through anxiety, depression, and the heavy weight they’ve been carrying alone.
If I could write a letter to my younger self, I would say: You are not broken. You are responding to what you’ve been through. And one day, your healing will become someone else’s hope.
Hi, I’m Cherita Griffin, MS, LPCC-S, NCC, CYT, SEL-F, C-DBT, CMIP, and I help adults who are carrying more than they let the world see. I work with the people who keep showing up, to work, to parenting, to marriage, to life, while privately feeling overwhelmed, emotionally exhausted, anxious, disconnected, or quietly falling apart. I especially support the client who smiles on the outside but is hurting on the inside, the mother who pours into everyone else and feels like no one is pouring into her, and the father who is doing his best but feels unseen in the effort.
With over 20 years of experience in mental health, I bring both deep clinical knowledge and a trauma-informed, compassionate approach to therapy. I hold a Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, a Master’s in Applied Behavioral Analysis, and a Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice with a concentration in Forensic Psychology. I also bring advanced training as a Certified Yoga Teacher, Social Emotional Learning Facilitator, Certified Dialectical Behavior Therapist, and Certified Mindfulness Informed Professional.
My work is grounded in the belief that trauma is not just something you think about, it lives in your body, your relationships, your reactions, your sense of self, and the stories you tell yourself about who you are. That is why I use approaches that do more than talk about pain. I help clients understand their patterns, regulate their emotions, challenge unhelpful beliefs, and rebuild trust in themselves.
I specialize in helping people navigate trauma, anxiety, depression, life transitions, relationship stress, low self-worth, and emotional burnout. Many of my clients come to me saying, “I know what I need to do, but I don’t know how to do it for myself.” In our work together, we slow things down, get honest, and create a space where healing is possible without shame.
My approach is supportive, direct, and grounded in real change. I combine evidence-based therapy with holistic tools that help you not only understand what’s happening, but actually begin to feel differently. That may include skills for emotion regulation, mindfulness practices, nervous system support, boundary work, trauma processing, and deeper exploration of the experiences that shaped you.
This is a space where you do not have to hold it all together.
You do not have to keep pretending you are fine.
You do not have to keep carrying everyone else while abandoning yourself.
If you are the one who is always strong for everybody else, therapy with me is a place where you can finally be held, seen, and supported too. Healing is not about becoming someone new. It is about returning to yourself with more clarity, peace, and self-compassion than you have known in a long time.
